Toothless and Tatted Out

We're talking about Elementary School Mothers.... so I came back to OP looking for a great school district for my kids! Right??? Wrong!! Who would think you have to seriously contemplate moving to OP?? Let me tell you!

My first School Carnival....

I had the experience of meeting so many of my child's parents.... the children of these people are kids my kid hangs around EVERY DAY! What was I expecting? Maybe some stay at home moms, jeans and a pony tail, a few parents from the corporate field and some labor workers.... a good mixture! Let me first say this: The first years of a kids elementary school have a tremendous impact on who the become in the future!

So I meet one of her best friends mom, she doesn't speak any English, seemed like a very hard worker (cleans houses) and talked adamantly about the safety of her child and not letting her spend the night at anyones house or even play at anyones house without knowing the parent well. (I can relate because you never know who is on the prowl for kids!) The first sleepover my daughter had was when she was turning 6. I had only seen the kids we invited from dropping my daughter off and picking her up at school... Parents dropped their kids off at my house like they knew me from waaaaaay back!!! I mean I am a single mom, and there was no significant other in the picture at that time but what parent in their right mind would drop off their 5 year old at a place they have never been to or scoped out OVERNIGHT??? Seriously these people were droppin em off like puppies!! But that's another blog for another time... so the very hard worker is venting to me why she isn't very trusting... and next to her is her sister in law. In sweatpants, matted hair, and a shirt that I wouldn't even wear on a Spring Cleaning day... not to mention with a gold grill.. and yes she has kids at that school too and no shes not a minority lol Surrounding me were another 2 single moms, each with tattoos, a mouth on them like they were pirates, and talkin about the other ghetto moms around... One of them was talking about how her son loves and has a crush on my daughter and the other one saying her daughter is my daughters bes best freeeeeeeeeeen and are inseparable!!! OH GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWD NOOOOOOOOOOO!

And let me remind you this is Shawnee Mission School District, you would expect that in the Dot but Johnson County?? OP??? Seriously I do not want my daughter getting preggo in Elementary School or makin friends with kids who are parented or step parented by drug dealers !!! Seriously!!!!
